The blanket project consists of 8 blankets which illustrate the concept that, though we have damaged many things – our environment, our relationships and ourselves – we are capable of repairing them….if we choose to.

These allegorical textiles have been cut, torn, burned, shot and unraveled in acts of destruction. They have then been stitched, patched, pinned, stapled and glued together using the color red. Red is the color of blood. Blood symbolizes life and sacrifice. The use of red stitches, patches and words to repair the damage is symbolic of the work and sacrifice that will be required of us to bring healing to our land and the people.
