Pentz's body of abstracted paintings titled "ANCIENT LANDSCAPE" was a shift from the more archeological themes of previous work. The artist changed his focus from that of underground deteriorating object forms to that of an overview of the land itself. This point of view was established by the introduction of a horizon lime into the composition. As the title of this series suggests, the images depict landscapes that have been shaped by millennia of underground plate upheaval and weathering from the elements. |
